Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. However just imagine if you added some great pictures or videos to give your posts more, "pop"! Your content is excellent but with images and clips, this blog could definitely be one of the very best in its niche. Wonderful blog!Raleigh Roofing, 3221 Durham Dr., #101-C, Raleigh, NC 27603 - (919) 701-6300

Physical or Virtual/Cloud? 1 Million physical, data-center grade, servers could easily translate to 10M cloud servers. Either way its an impressive feat!

I have been following blog site to get a few months possibly even and possess acquired a huge amount of information and cherished the technique you have organised your website. I am attempting to operate my quite private blog site nevertheless. I think it's as well basic and that i should consentrate on quite a lot of scaled-down subject areas. Becoming everything to everyone men and women just isn't everything the chipped as much as be.

Brannon,

We've had essentially this code in production serving approximately 450 Moodle 1.9 sites with no performance issues or bugs. The code is here: https://github.com/gchaix/Moodle-1.9-Multisite

A few things:
1) I haven't bothered to port this to Moodle 2.x, but I don't think it would be particularly difficult to adapt.
2) The non-separation of core modules and contributed/3rd party modules means it's not possible to install modules/filters/blocks/etc. on a per-site basis. If one site needs the module, *all* sites get it. This vastly increases the likelihood that there will be interoperability or mutual incompatibility issues as the number of add-on modules increases.
3) Upgrades are a pain on 1.9.x since there's no command line interface and when you update the shared-code instance, you have to hit the admin UI on every site in order to trigger the upgrade. I ended up hacking up a really ugly Selenium script that walked through all the sites on the install that blindly clicked on Save/Continue until it ran out of forms. Less than ideal and somewhat risky, but it's the only thing that I've found to handle the bulk upgrade.

It works, but it's not the prettiest solution.
